Through this workshop we work on the main aspects that characterize the performing of Tango Music.

The objective is to focus on the crucial aspects of the whole work: all the “not written” features, not only in the works of Astor Piazzola but also in the traditional compositions. In fact, the purpose is to transmit to foreign musicians (both popular and classical ones), to manage the necessary tools in order to bring to play all the “free phrasing”, the rhythm, and expressive games that tango invites us to discover.

This workshop develops the following topics:

2.Tango Phrasing
3.Accompaniment patterns
4.Textures treatment

Own interpretation

All over this workshop, designed specially for tango dancers that want to manage the necessary tools for appreciating and understanding tango music, we work on developing listening first and then corporal skills throughout different tango music rhythms, different orchestras’ styles, and different ways to take to the dancing the “commas” on the musical speech, among other aspects.
We believe Audio education is the way to approach dancing to the current evolution of tango music.

ACTIVITIES:

1. We listen and discover by listening. We exchange experiences with our partner.
2. We play body games with tango steps, and also with free movements.
3. We learn how to discover the different orchestras’ styles, dancing with the “musical commas” of each one.
